Sara Ali and Teo David Present:
Beyond the Binary: Celebrating Queer Love
A project of In Our Skin.
What better way to kick off pride month than embracing queer love?
Beyond the Binary: Celebrating Queer Love is more than a photo exhibit. It’s a display that showcases the beauty of Queerness and what it means to love as Queer people.
With a formal definition that doesn’t do it justice, Queerness is more than an umbrella term to describe those who aren’t cisgender or heterosexual. Queerness is an act of defiance and an expression of what the status quo DOESN’T look like. Because let’s be real, who wants to uphold the existing conditions of what love “is supposed to” look like? To engage in queer love is not only a celebration of joy, but an act of resilience.
Queerness doesn’t have a definitive structure. It doesn’t fit neatly into boxes – and that’s what makes it so beautiful. That’s why we’ll be showcasing just a few queer folks at this exhibit.
Come out and enjoy a celebration of beauty as well as good camaraderie and complimentary beverages!
About In Our Skin:
Starting as a passion project in 2020, In Our Skin focused on breaking down traditional, Euro-centric standards of beauty by creating spaces where we can be unapologetically authentic and decolonize everything we know about the beauty industry. It has evolved to showcase all things challenging the status quo.

About Teo:
Teo David is a Honduran-American photographer. Teo started taking pictures at an
young age with his father, who‘s a videographer. Under his father’s tutelage, Teo learned that it is his job to capture the moment for the client; so, came the birth of WWTS Photography. WWTS Photography specializes in portraits, special events, headshots, and creative lifestyle photography. Teo is prompt and apt to your photography needs. Teo also has extensive experience taking photographs for businesses and nonprofit organizations. In 2022, WWTS Photography found its new home in the heart of Allentown (Buffalo’s Art District). 93 Allen St is the home of the WWTS Photography, but also, the gallery portion of the business. The goal and purpose of the Gallery is to showcase meaningful work that impacts the community. WWTS Photography’s mission statement is: “Bring us your ideas and we’ll take care of the rest”.

About Sara:
Sara Ali is a resin artist, freelance journalist, organizer, and poet. She’s also a horror-fanatic and cat lover. Sara enjoys writing songs for her cat – Gojira – that no one but her partner (to his dismay) and cat will ever hear. When she’s not working her day job, she’s either writing, volunteering, creating resin pieces, or spending time with her beloved dudes (partner and cat, duh).
